With the news of his passing i figure i’d share an experience I had with his stand-up I share with you guys the first stand up show I’ve watched from the great Robin Williams: Live at Broadway. I was at university at the time during a harsh time when i was thinking a lot of my future and I was turning into a serious 20 year old and yanno at that time of a young age it isn’t good to be super serious especially learning about the world of animation and art a field where you need an open mind and not a one track mind.
So a friend decided to play his special on this big screen where lectures were displayed and I was shocked cause I only knew Robin at the time from his movies and wow did i laugh so hard, I coughed up lungs and placed my studies on the side and his humor helped me realize the world isn’t so serious as it seems and watching it again i get more and more of the references and i laugh harder and harder and enjoying how well he delivers the humor and thanks to him I kept humor and laughter a part of me and watched more of his acts and entered the world of stand-up.
Rest in Peace you magnificent Actor and Comedian~! All the condolences to your family and friends man ;w; thank you for showing the world great humor and humility~
Imma try and do this more cause i love to help fellow artists out and help inspire them to keep on going so a sentence i lived by as an artist for the past 12 years that has helped me look past dumb feelings that tell you "forget it, you’ll never be that great" but more like "What can i do now to push myself to this level? How can i go Beyond?".
